Dear Red Cross Volunteer Staff:

Between now and mid-April, we have some exciting activities and events planned, and we REALLY need your involvement.  These opportunities help us meet our mission and to build relationships in our communities-but you are the key to success!  Please contact Susan Singleton at 442-6621 or send an email to volunteer@cenlaredcross.org to sign up to help at these events.  Let us know which ones you will support and what you want to do.  Be sure to include the phone number you prefer us to use to contact you.

February 13^th-8 AM to Noon: Camp Beauregard Military Deployment Ceremonies

4 volunteers needed to setup up booth and give out snacks, beverages, and Red Cross Emergency Services for the Armed Forces brochures and info

February 14^th-9 AM to 1 PM: Camp Beauregard Military Deployment Ceremonies

4 volunteers needed to setup up booth and give out snacks, beverages, and Red Cross Emergency Services for the Armed Forces brochures and info

February 14^th - Alexandria Mari Gras Parade 12:30 to 5

Red Cross partners with Chamber to host the military and their families and to distribute hot cocoa, beads, and brochures about Red Cross Emergency Services for the Armed Forces as well as Health & Safety Info

4 volunteers needed to man booths, handout information, hot cocoa, and beads

Red Cross also partners with the Heart Association to give out bystander CPR and AED information at the FREE ZONE (alcohol-free, tobacco-free area for families)

               4 volunteers needed to man booths, handout information, hot cocoa, and beads

RELOCATION-We will be in the New Building no later than March 1.  If you want to help pack boxes or clean out desks, we are working on these areas everyday.

March  is National Red Cross Month!!

March 11^th  - Media & Rapides Parish Leadership Dining in Disaster--noon at the new building

We need your help to invite and encourage attendees;

4 volunteers to prep/serve food

March 18^th -Ribbon Cutting, Open House TENTATIVE DATE

PLEASE NOTIFY us ASAP of any conflicts for the March 18^th ribbon cutting/open house which would probably run from 1 until 4:30

March 18^th-Chamber After Hours at the new Red Cross building from 5:30 to 8:30

6 leadership volunteers, 1 for each of the following items:   food, beverages, tours, decorations/banners, handouts, and invitations

10 volunteers to help prep hors d'oeuvres, serve, provide tours, and clean up afterwards (4:30 to 9)

March 25^th - Board & Guest Dining in Disaster, noon to 1:30

4 volunteers needed to help serve, give tours, and clean up

March 20^th - all day event: Bikers United Parish Ride for Haiti (fundraiser)

8 volunteers needed to attend and collect money at 4 stops: Bunkie, Marksville, Pineville, Alexandria

March 1^st - April 15^th - Hero Campaign

(includes various fundraisers hosted by Heroes and Red Cross bucket brigades each weekend in March & April)

We need 12 more Champions (community leaders who recruit 5 heroes) and 50 more Heroes (individuals or groups who raise $1,000 for the Red Cross)

April 16^th - Golf Tournament
