Whenever military families or soldiers call, Red Cross answers.

  

Red Cross volunteers provide emergency services.

If you or a loved one need to send an emergency communication message to a service member, please contact our office at 800-259-2777 or 318-442-6621 - 24 hours a day to contact an emergency services caseworker.  Please be sure to have the following information about your service member ready before you call:

  • First and last name with middle initial
  • Birthdate
  • Social Security Number
  • Branch of service, rank and duty status (active, national guard, reservist)
  • Military address (including APO if you have it)
  • Contact and phone number for verification source (i.e. hospital, nursing home, or funeral home)

The American Red Cross helps military personnel and their families in many ways:

Information and Communications
Assists with the comunication of such family matters as birth, serious illness or death in the family. The information is verified and can be used for leave requests. Emergency communication is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Emergency Financial Assistance
Red Cross works with service members and their families by making referrals to military aid societies for emergency financial assistance.

Volunteers Needed 

 We are seeking volunteers to work as Service to Armed Forces community educators in Central Louisiana.  Primary responsibilities include providing presentations to military members and their families about the services we offer to military members and veterans.    Meet with military men and women at our monthly coffee house, visit bases, and lead the "Get To Know Us Before You Need Us" campaign.  Call 318 442-6621 or email help@cenlaredcros.org to become a Red Cross Ambassador.
